Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Safe, subtle, natural-looking smoothing of dynamic lines using licensed neuromodulators (Botox®, Azzalure®) administered by an experienced medical injector. Treatments are quick, low-downtime and medically approved for overactivity of facial muscles.

Botox Treatment
What are anti-wrinkle (neuromodulator) injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections use highly purified forms of botulinum toxin type A (commonly sold under brand names such as Botox®, Azzalure® and others) to temporarily reduce muscle activity that causes dynamic facial lines — for example frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet. These are prescription medicines and must be prescribed and supplied by an appropriate clinician.

Products we use

We work only with licensed, reputable neuromodulator brands (onabotulinumtoxinA, abobotulinumtoxinA, incobotulinumtoxinA — trade names include Botox®, Azzalure®, Xeomin®, etc.). Choice of product and dose is tailored to your anatomy and desired result. Using licensed products and correct storage/handling is essential for predictable results and safety.

How it works (brief science)

The neurotoxin blocks the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction, which reduces the strength of targeted muscle contractions. Over time this reduces the repeated creasing that forms dynamic wrinkles and allows overlying skin to smooth. Effects are temporary because nerve–muscle communication gradually returns. The mechanism and clinical indications are described in manufacturers’ product literature.

Who is a good candidate?

• Adults seeking reduction of dynamic lines (glabellar “11” lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet, “bunny” lines, lip lines, chin dimpling, platysmal bands).

• Those wanting a preventative or maintenance approach to ageing (subtle natural outcomes are our focus).

• Not suitable if pregnant, breastfeeding, have certain neuromuscular disorders (e.g., myasthenia gravis), or active infection at the injection site. A full medical assessment is completed at consultation. (You’ll be screened for medications and conditions that can increase risk.)

Your clinic journey — what to expect

1. Consultation (essential)

• Medical history, medication review, photography and facial movement assessment.

• Discussion of realistic outcomes, risks and alternative options. We confirm which licensed product is recommended and explain cost and follow-up. (In the UK neuromodulators are prescription-only medicines — this step is mandatory.)

2. Treatment appointment (typically 15–30 minutes)

• Cleanse and brief mapping of injection points according to muscle anatomy.

• Tiny micro-injections with an ultra-fine needle; most clients feel only brief discomfort.

• Minimal-to-no anaesthesia is usually required. After injections we take post-treatment photos and provide written aftercare.

3. Recovery & follow-up

• No prolonged downtime: you can usually return to normal activities immediately with a few precautions (see aftercare). Results begin to appear in 3–5 days, with full effect at about 2 weeks. Results typically last 3–6 months depending on the product, dose and individual metabolism; repeat treatments maintain the effect.

Areas commonly treated

• Glabellar (frown) lines between the brows

• Horizontal forehead lines

• Crow’s feet (outer eye lines)

• Bunny lines (nose)

• Perioral lines (around the mouth) — selective and conservative use only

• Chin dimpling and platysmal (neck) bands

(Anatomy and dose are individually tailored for safety and natural results.)

Aftercare — easy but important

• Avoid rubbing, massaging, hot saunas/steam or facial treatments across the treated area for 24–48 hours.

• Stay upright for 3–4 hours after treatment and avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.

• Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning supplements immediately before and after treatment to reduce bruising risk.

• Expect mild, temporary redness, tenderness or small bruises; these usually settle within a few days. Contact us immediately for any breathing or swallowing difficulties or unexpected muscular weakness.

Risks, side-effects & safety

• Common: temporary bruising, mild swelling, redness, headache, transient droop of eyelid or eyebrow if the toxin migrates (usually reversible).

• Rare but serious: wider spread muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing, speech or breathing changes — seek urgent medical help if these occur.

• Using unlicensed or illegally supplied products, or injections by untrained practitioners, increases the risk of severe adverse events. Always ensure treatments are performed in a regulated medical setting by experienced clinicians using licensed products. Recent regulatory warnings stress the importance of licensed products and qualified practitioners.

Why choose a medical clinic

You will receive a medical assessment by a trained GMC registered provider who has had product specific official training with the producer of the product;

 - precise, anatomy-based injection technique;

 - use of licensed neuromodulators;

 - documented consent and follow-up; and

 - adherence to national safety guidance.

These practices deliver predictable, natural results and reduce complication risk. We follow the same standards.

FAQ

Q: Does it hurt?

A: Most clients describe only a brief pinch — topical anaesthetic is rarely required.

Q: When will I see results and how long do they last?

A: First signs at 3–5 days, full effect around 10–14 days; typical duration 3–6 months.

Q: Can I combine with other treatments?

A: Yes — commonly combined with dermal fillers, chemical peels or LED therapy, but timing/sequence will be planned for safety and optimal outcome.

Q: Is it safe long-term?

A: When administered correctly by qualified practitioners using licensed products, neuromodulators have a long history of safe cosmetic and medical use. Regular review and conservative dosing are best practice
